GLENN DANZIG To Play 'Violent Thug' In VANESSA DEL RIO Film Project

Glenn Danzig has agreed to an acting role in director Thomas Mignone's upcoming film inspired by the extraordinary life of Vanessa Del Rio — the legendary Latina adult film star in New York's infamous Times Square during the '70s and '80s — which star Michael Rooker ("Walking Dead") has described as "'Boogie Nights' meets 'Taxi Driver'." The gritty film takes place in New York City's Times Square circa late 1970s and Danzig will play a violent thug.

For a brief time, Mignone will offer a limited edition of 66 shooting scripts for fans, signed by Danzig. Those interested can get more information at this location.

Mignone is best known for his work as a rock video director, helming projectsfrom SYSTEM OF A DOWN, DANZIG, SOULFLY and MORBID ANGEL, among others. He also directed the 2007 feature film "On The Doll".

Description of the Vanessa Del Rio film project by the filmmakers: "The criminal element that rose from the thriving adult shop area created some of the highest crime statistics New York City had ever seen. Our story takes place against this tumultuous backdrop."

"The Vanessa Del Rio Film Project" is not a documentary but a feature film based on the life of a character named Vanessa Del Rio.
